Ayurveda, the meaning of Life - The future in the Tradition
The Theme of this Congress edition is “Āyurveda, the meaning of life: The Future in the Tradition” and it is an event devoted to analyze the relationships between Tradition and Future, with the aim to interface Ayurvedic and Vedic System of Knowledge with the Modern Science and Biomedicine.
However, in order to proceed, the crucial gap between the two knowledge systems must be appropriately addressed. This will allow to identify contact points and conceptual references which - like a new “Rosetta Stone” - will make the translation of the notions and a fruitful dialogue possible. The interfacing of different epistemologies and the analysis of the contact points will foster the emergence of new knowledge paradigms representing a necessary basis for common platforms for science development. Some attempts in this direction have been already done by several researchers, and this event is aimed at giving a coherent vision to these efforts in order to identify a pathway that will facilitate the interfacing process.
In this Congress each of the participants will bring their own experience and ideas on how to resolve the gap between knowledge systems. Hopefully, the Coherence emerging from the ensemble of these conceptual contributions will help us to identify new perspectives, patterns and paradigms. Three aspects will be taken into consideration, each of them representing the core theme of one of the conference sessions:
Session 1 - Coherence in Concepts and Vision
Session 2 - Coherence in Basic Research
Session 3 - Coherence in Clinical Studies
All the contributors are thus invited to provide, besides empirical findings, insights and suggestions concerning the trans-epistemological value.
