Ayurveda Acharya and Vaidya, founder of Joytinat Ashram, Ayurvedic community, founder of the International College of Yoga and Ayurveda
Swami Joythimayananda, Acharya (Spiritual Master) and Vaidya (Ayurvedic Physician), founder of Joytinat Ashram, Ayurvedic community, founder of the International College of Yoga and Ayurveda, is of Indian origin (Tamil Nadu, South India), where he was born on the 3rd of June 1941 in Ingirya (Sri Lanka). Since 1955, in search of the truth, he lived a life of a Sadhu (mystic). He lived so for 10 years in Sri Lanka and India, following different practices and visiting various hermitages with masters, ashrams and Ayurvedic hospitals. He carried out his Sadhana or spiritual practice in solitude in the jungle close to Kataragama. He received his knowledge on systems of healing used by the Siddhas (healers) through the teaching “Paramparawa” (direct transmission from master to pupil), a method that has been developed over the years and has been for centuries. He founded, in 1972 he first Ashram in Kataragama (Sri Lanka) to transmit and to practice Yoga & Ayurveda. In 1979, he founded the Institute for “Traditional Therapeutic Studies” in Kalkudah (Sri Lanka) for health and for cure. He travels to Germany, Portugal, the Caribbean, Venezuela, New Zealand, New Guinea, Australia, Bali, Thailand and Singapore to share and spread this phylosophy of Yoga. In 1985, forced to leave his country he moved to Genove, Italy, with his family. He founded his first “Centro Joytinat” (Center) after which would follow another 18 centers spread all over Italy, Spagna, Switzerland and Germany. In April 2003 he inaugurated the Ashram Joytinat, at Corinaldo (An), the venue for the Festival Dolce India, that hosted the International Ayurvedic Conference and the festival “La terra è sacra” (The earth is sacred). In 2014 he completed the construction of a house made completely out of mud in collaboration with the American Association “House Alive!” along with the help 12 people ranging from countries all over the world. Since 1986 he conducts conferences and seminars on phylosophy of life following the pricnipals of Yoga and Ayurveda all over Europe and in India. He is dedicated to the teaching of how to care for the soul, the mind and the body, serving the people and helping them learn how to live in peace and wellness.
